Joy R. Butler is an entertainment, intellectual property and business attorney. Her legal expertise includes copyrights, trademarks, commercial licensing, entertainment law, private equity financing, and mergers and acquisitions.

In her entertainment law practice, Ms. Butler assists clients developing projects in music, publishing, film, television and new media. Her recent work in music includes advising talent agents, concert promoters, composers, and music publishing companies. Her recent work in film and television includes assisting independent producers with business entity formation, joint venture arrangements, guild compliance issues, rights clearance, errors and omissions insurance, private investor financing, and the negotiation of talent, distribution and other contracts.

Ms. Butler is the author of The Permission Seeker's Guide Through the Legal Jungle and The Cyber Citizen's Guide Through the Legal Jungle.
